About us

Walkers are Welcome

The Teifi Valley Trail is being created by the Walkers are Welcome accredited communities of Tregaron, Lampeter, Llandysul & Pont-Tyweli, Cilgerran, St Dogmaels with Cardigan and Lampeter & Teifi Valley Rambler groups and Tregaron Walking Club.

The Teifi Valley Trail Association is a volunteer organisation which was established to develop and maintain the trail.

Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire County Councils are very supportive of the TVT project, which almost exclusively uses existing public rights of way. We have much evidence already in Wales showing how walkers boost local economies with minimal negative social and environmental impact.

Walkers Are Welcome

JOIN US

There are many tasks that we need support with to ensure the Teifi Valley Trail can be enjoyed to the full by walkers from around the world.

We want to work closely with the local communities and businesses to ensure that we maximise opportunities for everyone. If you would like your relevant business to be featured for free on this website please contact us.

We also are keen to extend from the Teifi Valley Trail to a 170-mile circular route which we have called the Celtic Circle. This will combine the Teifi Valley Trail with the Wales Coast Path to Borth, then adding a marked trail up to Strata Florida touching also on the Cambrian Way en route. This will again present some top class walking in west Wales.

VOLUNTEER ROLES

Trail Champions – Working out on the trail as part of a team to help maintain the path, cutting back foliage or putting in new gates or stiles. This is managed along the three stages of the route.

Website / Social Media – Do you have any website or social media skills to help us launch the trail beyond our local area? We also need bloggers to help promote the route to a diverse range of people from cyclists to hikers to those needing disabled access.

Fundraisers – We have already raised in excess of £20,000 to assist with the creation of the trail but we will be needing more funds to secure the future and make this a world class trail.
